If you're wondering about the line about the lightbulb in this song, I can clear it up for you. A couple years ago when I went to vote, instead of handing out "I voted today" stickers, they were giving energy efficient lightbulbs. This gesture just seemed so absurd that I really couldn't help but include it in the song.
lyrics
Perseverance:
Perseverance it's what I've got
Perseverance I fought and fought
Perseverance never give in
Perseverance I'm gonna win
Never take no for an answer
Bullet In the Head:
I voted today and got a light bulb, that's so fuckin' cool
Exercised my right to vote as a citizen of the United States
But some guy in the Middle East probably voted today
And didn't get a light bulb but a bullet in the head
